Transition Piece #1
Transition Piece #1 is a latex and enamel work born from the artist's mapping of movement. The patterns within this piece emerged through an iterative process of tracing previous lines and responding to, as well as amplifying, the slippages and errors that arose during the creation.
The work engages with the themes of movement and change, illustrating how transformations are anchored to initial points of origin but are continually influenced by chance and unexpected interactions. It underscores that the pathways of becoming are never fully determined at the start; instead, they unfold through a dialogue between deliberate actions and the accidental. Transition Piece #1 invites viewers to contemplate how processes of change are shaped by both intention and serendipity, reflecting the fluid and dynamic nature of evolution and adaptation.
This work forms part of The Absence of Alice series.
