The Contamination of Alice #4: Landscapes
The Contamination of Alice #4: Landscapes features agar sculptures formed from the facial impressions of an 11-year-old girl, referencing Alice, the original donor of the Saos-2 cell line. The Agar is enriched with various nutrients to cultivate diverse fungal and bacterial colonies, symbolising the dynamic, unpredictable growth of life. This iteration also includes germinating plant seeds and miniature plastic figures, creating an intricate ecosystem where biological and artificial elements intertwine.
The work forms part of The Absence of Alice.
