Metatosis

Metatosis is a video work that explores the body’s mutability and the evolving concept of self, shaped by advancements in medical and biological technologies. This short video integrates footage of the human body, symbiotic organisms, and medical devices, symbolizing the interconnectedness and fluid nature of identity in an age of technological intervention.

Through its layered visuals, Metatosis reflects on how emerging technologies redefine boundaries between self and other, organic and artificial. The work suggests that, as the body becomes increasingly modifiable and intertwined with external agents, our understanding of identity transforms, becoming as fluid and adaptable as the technologies that influence it.
