In Process reflects on the transformative nature of individual cells and the complexities involved in interpreting and translating biological and experiential data. Comprising three video animations, In Process draws from the artist's firsthand experience of culturing cells, capturing the subtle mutations that occur over time. The audio component features an image-to-sound translation derived from time-lapse video footage of Saos-2 bone cancer cell movements, adding an auditory dimension that echoes the dynamic and evolving life of the cells. This piece invites viewers to engage with the layered processes of biological change and the challenges inherent in capturing and conveying the nuanced interactions of living matter.
The work is designed to be adaptive and has been showcased in various configurations, including multi- and single-screen installations and forms part of The Absence of Alice series.
