Five Points of Origin

Five Points of Origin is an artwork that uses Saos-2 bone cancer cells, fixed in latex and enamel on canvas, to investigate themes of transformation and adaptability. This five-panel series reflects on how entities evolve and change based on physical conditions, repetitive actions, and environmental factors. Each panel features patterns traced repeatedly from a single point, symbolising the ongoing shifts that occur as a result of cumulative influences over time. This repetition serves as a metaphor for the way living systems adapt and are reshaped by their surroundings, highlighting the interconnectedness of biological processes and environmental context in shaping identity and form.

The work forms part of The Absence of Alice.
